What We Offer

A friendly atmosphere and interesting work which is fun to do.

Plenty of fresh air, exercise and freshly brewed tea.

Full training will be given in skills that may be required.

All tools necessary for the task will be provided. The correct and safe use of these tools will be fully explained.

Gloves and any specialised equipment such as helmets, goggles or waders.

First aid kit (in the very unlikely event that it is required)

Insurance (under a scheme administered by the British Trust for Conservation Volunteers)

The reasons why we are carrying out the projects will be fully explained.

Everyone is welcome to join us on one of our projects. No experience is necessary. (Volunteers under the age of 16 should be accompanied by an adult who will be responsible for them). Feel free to come out on as many or as few projects as you wish.

All that you need is :

ENTHUSIASM. Work gear including rainwear, wellies or work boots as appropriate for the time of year and project. A Packed Lunch.

There is no need to book, just turn up. If you want to make your own way to the work site, that is fine, turn up from 10 am at the work site. You'll just need to get in touch with the leader (this is detailed in our printed programme (the Wibbler)). Click here to find out how to receive our printed programme. Very occasionally tasks have to be changed, so ring to get latest details.

We recommend that all volunteers are covered by a current tetanus injection.

Please note that alcohol must be not be consumed on projects as this invalidates our insurance.
